Brown marmorated stink bug
The Australian Department of Agriculture has introduced heightened measures to prevent the invasion of the Brown marmorated stink bug from other infested areas of the world. Any shipments originating from one of the following 37 countries, containing any vehicles, machinery or parts and shipped to Australia on or after 1st September, and arriving on or before 30th April must be treated by an Australian government approved treatment provider at origin.
Any shipments that do not meet the requirements may be denied entry into Australia.
- Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan
- Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria
- Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic
- China (random inspections will apply to goods shipped between 1 September to 31 December)
- France
- Georgia, Germany, Greece
- Hungary
- Italy
- Japan (heightened vessel surveillance will be the only measure applied)
- Kazakhstan
- Kosovo
- Liechtenstein, Luxembourg
- Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro
- Netherlands
- Portugal, Poland
- Romania, Russia
- Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland
- South Korea (heightened vessel surveillance will be the only measure applied)
- Turkey
- Ukraine
- United Kingdom (random inspections will apply to goods shipped between 1 December to 30 April)
- USA
