From Dublin to London, there is so much to love about this unique part of the world known as the United Kingdom. However, when you’re enduring the 20th consecutive day of grey overcast its easy to fall into the “grass is greener” mode and think life may be better in some far off land. But the UK doesn’t realise how good they have it!
There might not be the best beaches and the lack of sophisticated food might get you down, but the UK has one thing over most places and that’s Spirit! What people end up missing most about the UK are the small things like eating Haggis over an open fire in winter, singing your heart out at the weekends football match and having a jolly good night out in London’s West End.
To appreciate home sometimes we have to venture out to a new part of the world, whether it’s Southern France or half way across the world in Australia or New Zealand. Sooner or later we long for the familiar: for tea and scones, the fiery yet delightful Scottish accent and the comfort of a Welsh castle.
If homesickness has well and truly kicked in and there is no remedy apart from a welcome home by friends and family, followed by a good old fashioned greasy English breakfast, then get in touch with the team at Conroy who will make sure all those souvenirs, Boomerangs and jars of Vegemite get home safely (and all of your other important belongings too!)
